Meet the Staff

Mick started off Volunteering at Mountain View Pet Retreat, on weekends and after he had finished his shift at his previous job. Eventually weekends just weren’t enough for Mick, and he quit his last job, and decided, in February of 2019, to come work with MVPR on a more permanent basis. Since then, Mick has shown his dedication, love and loyalty to the guests and team here at MVPR and has worked his way up to be our much loved and respected Kennel Operations Manager. Many of you would have seen Micks face over the years both at the retreat, and on our social media pages. He is a much-loved presence here and ensures that your pet is loved and cared for during their stays. When Mick takes a break from caring for our guests, he loves to spend time with his family and his dog Joey, who he adopted from MVPR, as well as bowling and golf.

Kate started her journey with the Mountain View Pet Retreat family in February of 2023. Kate is one of the office girls, and you will often see her greeting guests at reception or assisting your queries over phone, email, or social media. Kate is currently studying to be a Vet Assistant and studying Animal Welfare, which she plans to utilise as a further prospect for Mountain View. Like all our employees here, Kate loves all animals, and loves spending time with our beautiful guests, and ensuring they get the best love and care during their stays with us. When she isn’t greeting all our beautiful guests at reception Kate loves to spend her time with her partner and their two dogs, Hamish, and Bean and their two cats, Smudge and Karma, as well as either reading, creating miniatures, or doing arts and crafts.

Rebecca or "Bec" as we fondly call her, is a new member of Mountain View Pet Retreat who joined our forces in Early March. Bec has hit the deck running and interacts so lovingly with all our guests. (I've heard her telling them "Goodnight my sweet angels" before leaving in the afternoon). Bec enjoys spending time with her golden oldie dog, Gus, and her three cats Alfie, Poppy and Eadie. When she is not hard at work with us, she likes to take some time to herself and either do some drawing, sewing and relaxing on the beach when she can. Keep an eye out for Bec, as she may be our next superstar.

Amelia is another familiar face you may see around from time to time. She started working at MVPR in April 2023, as she wanted to build her confidence working with people and found that dogs helped her with this. Since starting with us, we have watched Amelia blossom with her confidence both in herself and with others. During the week Amelia goes to school and will often come and work with us on weekends and public holidays. Amelia has her own little pooch at home, a Cavalier King Charles named Lucy, who she loves and adores and spends her free time with.
